🏘️The NEAR Hacker House in 🌵Austin, TX was filled with hackers, learning and networking from June 8–12. We had an array of speakers come in and we learned so much from them. If you were not able to attend you might have FOMO, but do not stray, as we will recap one of our 💖favs, Claudio, the co-founder of Meta Pool.

Claudio came to speak to us about “Liquid Staking on Meta Pool,” where he shared what Meta Pool is and what they are looking for devs to build⚒️. Meta Pool generously contributed 💰$2,750 in total in bounties💰 for our builders🏗️.

Metapool is a liquid staking dAPP built on NEAR protocol 💻🌎. On it you are able to deposit your NEAR into Meta Pool and it is distributed across the best performing validators. After, your staked NEAR (stNEAR) becomes a liquid token that represents your position with Meta Pool. 🪙A stNEAR is like an IOU, that you can use across a growing number of DeFi apps.

Claudio explained to us that in Meta Pool there is no rebasing. In order for this to work they pulled in all the staked tokens with just one pool (hence the great name Meta Pool🏊). As a result, it is easy to calculate the💰price of the NEAR💻🌎.

🌀Meta Pool believes in the importance and value of growing the NEAR ecosystem🍃, so they created Meta Yield. It is a platform which is 💸fundraising for NEAR-based projects through liquid staking so that more projects can be launched on NEAR🚧.

Claudio recounted to us that one day he checked his bank account and realized that there was a $600 charge on it. After investigation, he realized that it was from his child playing the beloved game, Fortnite🕺. That is when it hits him, what if a game allows an asset to be staked? That way, the player can then use the use staking rewards to buy gaming purchases, also known as gameFi🎮.

Later, Meta Yield was successfully launched, along with 59 games🕹️.

🐻We might be in a bear market, but there is no shortage of the NEAR community right now. With our beautiful, growing community we have been able to make Meta Yield successful🏆.

🏘️At HackerHouse ATX🌵 we had a space to give our Hackers what they needed to ⚒️build their projects.

After 5 days of hacking, Lievin and Sean created ‘Clash of Multiverse,’ a RTS (REAL-Time Strategy) game on the Aurora Chain🎮.

🏆They won first prize for Meta Pools bounty.

Claudio announcing the first place Meta Pool winners

In the ‘Clash of Multiverses’ stNEAR tokens are distributed to lands by a genesis drop. Then, through wNEAR they can acquire land and recruit soldiers, which helps with combat and defense power⚔️.

Players can then attack each other for wNEAR in order to expand their multiverses. The more land a player has, the more reward the player can claim💰.

💖We look forward to seeing you at the next HackerHouse. Who knows? Maybe you will be the one ⚒️building and winning 💰bounties.
